Vice President, Commercial Banking Operations – APAC Control Lead

About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Specialist for Asia Pacific Operations, overseeing commercial and investment banking operational controls. The role partners with business groups to build a strong control environment, identify risks early and ensure sustainable mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures across APAC commercial and investment banking operations.
• Provide risk‑management consulting to design and implement risk mitigation strategies, business processes and controls.
• Execute and manage core risk programs such as the Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA), operational risk event analysis, reporting and issues management.
• Monitor, measure, evaluate and report on the impact of decisions and controls, and guide business groups on program development and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of risk or control management experience in large financial institutions.
• Solid knowledge of wholesale, commercial and correspondent banking products, services and associated risks.
• Experience with first‑line business controls, process improvement and automation of control processes.
• Strong analytical abilities, high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and supervisory frameworks.
• Experience with quality assurance, quality control routines and risk‑control metrics reporting.
