About the role

SGF Global is seeking a senior Accounting Manager to lead the full spectrum of accounting, tax and corporate reporting for a major company in Asunción. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability and deep knowledge of Paraguayan tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise an accounting team of three professionals.
• Manage the monthly closing process, ensuring data quality, integrity and timely delivery.
• Oversee account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including VAT, IRE, withholdings, IDU and electronic invoicing.
• Handle corporate statutory obligations and related documentation.
• Coordinate external audits and work with consultants, delivering required information and meeting audit requirements.
• Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies.
• Prepare, review and sign the annual financial statements.
• Maintain the accounting, tax, corporate and audit calendars.
• Drive process, control and tool improvements to strengthen the function.

Required profile

• Graduated in Accounting with an active professional license.
• At least 8 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience leading closing, tax, audit processes and teams.
• In‑depth knowledge of Paraguayan tax legislation (mandatory).
• Experience with SAP Business One and other ERP/accounting tools.
• Preferably background in audit/tax consulting, multinational companies or large taxpayers.
• Analytical, organized, solution‑oriented with a strong compliance focus.
• Ability to quickly assume leadership of accounting and tax processes in a dynamic, high‑demand environment.
