Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Penguin is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financing of its multi‑billion‑dollar expansion. Reporting to the two Co‑CEOs and working directly with the Board, the CFO will own the capital‑raising agenda and build a finance function that meets institutional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the capital plan across equity, project debt, mezzanine, equipment financing and real‑estate structures.
• Lead end‑to‑end capital raises: develop the story, financial model, data room, manage due diligence, negotiate term sheets and close transactions.
• Own and maintain bankable project‑finance models, including cash‑flow waterfalls and debt‑service coverage analyses.
• Maintain relationships with investors, banks, private‑credit funds and development finance institutions across the US, Europe and Latin America.
• Manage the group structure and treasury, handling both fiat and digital‑asset transactions.
• Oversee reporting, controls and compliance: monthly close, IFRS reporting, consolidated statements, clean audits and Board reporting.
• Build, lead and scale the finance team while partnering with the Co‑CEOs on major strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Hands‑on capital‑raise experience, having led at least one institutional financing of USD 100 M or more.
• Experience structuring cross‑border vehicles and working with multiple jurisdictions.
• 8‑10 years of progressive finance experience in a CFO, VP Finance, investment‑banking, private‑credit or infrastructure‑fund role.
• Operator mindset comfortable in a fast, founder‑led environment.
• South‑American origin or several years of work in the region, with strong ties to Paraguay.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
