Network Engineer - Core Infrastructure

About the role

Kraken is looking for a hands‑on Network Engineer to join its Core Infrastructure team. You will help design, build, secure, operate and automate the network and data‑center fabric that powers one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end data‑center infrastructure, including cages, racks, PDUs, structured cabling and hardware installation.
• Deliver connectivity solutions such as circuits, dark fiber and dedicated internet access, coordinating with carriers and vendors.
• Stand up and evolve modern data‑center fabrics using technologies like Cisco ACI and HPE/Juniper Apstra.
• Implement a zero‑trust, defense‑in‑depth network architecture with firewalls, RBAC, segmentation and least‑privilege access controls.
• Serve as first‑line responder for provisioning, access, connectivity and troubleshooting requests, keeping the operational queue moving.
• Monitor and maintain physical and cloud network infrastructure, responding to incidents to maximize uptime.
• Develop and deploy infrastructure‑as‑code solutions at scale, building automation tools, internal utilities and AI‑assisted agents.
• Write high‑quality policies, procedures and technical documentation.
