IT Operations Engineer

About the role

Deriv.com is hiring an IT Operations Engineer in Asunción. The IT Operations team is part of the larger Security team, so you will work closely with security-minded colleagues and help build systems that are secure by design. The company has 1,100+ endpoints (95% Mac), on-prem servers and a network across 4 continents, and the role offers room to grow into Security Engineering, Cloud, Automation, Networking or Architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Automate repetitive work and build AI-driven workflows that make support and operations faster and smoother.
• Configure, monitor and maintain systems so they stay secure, stable and scalable.
• Help keep global offices connected through LAN/WiFi/VPN and site-to-site networking.
• Use MDM to deploy software, enforce configurations and keep devices compliant across offices.
• Support onboarding by preparing equipment, access and, when needed, training for new hires.
• Provide hands-on IT support for colleagues in the Asunción office and help teams worldwide with devices, connectivity and troubleshooting.
• Work with colleagues, other departments and vendors across time zones.

Required profile

• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and network/internet issues.
• Experience with network appliances such as FortiGate firewalls, Aruba access points and switches, or similar tools such as Cisco or pfSense.
• Good working knowledge of macOS or Linux and their security features.
• Able to communicate in English for day-to-day work with international colleagues; fluency is not required.
• Pleasant, resourceful personality able to work across cultures and time zones.

Required skills

• Ability to build and maintain automation such as scripts, workflows or integrations, and comfort using AI tools.
• Bonus: coding/automation experience, especially Python, Ansible, shell scripting, bash/zsh.
