About the role

The Inter‑American Development Bank (Grupo BID) is seeking a dynamic consultant to support the effectiveness of development and operations management across its project portfolio. The role will provide strategic, technical, and operational assistance to project teams, ensuring high‑quality design, execution, and closure of operations in line with institutional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents, including Project Design Documents (PDDs) and technical cooperation agreements.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices, and indicators to ensure logical intervention design and robust results measurement.
• Support the evaluability of operations and alignment with the Bank’s development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in corporate quality‑review and approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical assistance to project teams during design, review, and approval stages.
• Monitor ongoing operations, prepare and review Progress Monitoring Reports (PMRs), and identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and post‑implementation evaluations.
• Systematize evidence, results, and lessons learned to strengthen knowledge management and promote best practices.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units, supporting strategic initiatives related to development effectiveness.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, statistics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in projects funded by multilateral organizations or the public sector.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken); additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is preferred.
• Citizenship of one of the Bank’s 48 member countries and eligibility to work for the institution.
