Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes Platform

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help evolve and scale our Kubernetes platform, a core component of Kraken’s next‑generation infrastructure. You will work within the Core Infrastructure – Platforms team, collaborating closely with SRE, networking, and security engineers to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure foundation for all workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Gain hands‑on experience with Kubernetes cluster operations, deployments, networking, and scalability.
• Build, operate, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple data‑centers.
• Triage and organize infrastructure issues, learning internal systems and best practices.
• Partner with senior engineers to solve complex problems and reduce operational burden.
• Develop automation and tooling to improve team efficiency and reduce toil.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to maintain platform reliability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure/Platform/DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong passion for providing technical guidance and a customer‑focused approach.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Deep Linux knowledge, comfortable with the shell, processes, networking basics, file systems, and permissions.
• Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, ports, IP addressing, basic routing, TLS, PKI).
• Good grasp of Kubernetes internals (control plane, scheduling, networking, storage).
• Familiarity with advanced Kubernetes networking such as Cilium.
• Ability to leverage AI tools (Claude, OpenAI) to deliver business value.
• Scripting or programming experience (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
