Tech Lead Data Engineer – Data Architecture & AI

About the role

We are looking for a Tech Lead Data Engineer who will own the architecture, governance and engineering of Cloudbeds’ data analytics platform. The role combines hands‑on data engineering with strategic data‑architect responsibilities, driving AI‑readiness and modernising our Snowflake‑based stack.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the cloud data architecture on Snowflake, including logical and physical modelling, dimensional design and semantic layers.
• Lead end‑to‑end data pipeline development, covering ingestion, API integrations, ELT/ETL, and orchestration with tools such as Matillion or Airflow.
• Implement DataOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated dbt testing and secure credential management.
• Establish data governance, cataloguing, observability and lineage monitoring to ensure data quality and freshness.
• Optimise Snowflake performance and cost through query tuning, clustering and warehouse sizing.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect or Tech Lead in a cloud data environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with Snowflake, dbt and advanced SQL, plus strong Python programming skills.
• Experience building AI‑ready data products, semantic models and feature stores for LLM or ML pipelines.
• Track record of introducing DataOps discipline, CI/CD and automated testing into data teams.
