Service Engineer - Food Processing Equipment

About the role

Tetra Pak, a global leader in food processing and packaging, is hiring a Service Engineer in Asuncion, Paraguay, within its Customer Service Operations team. You will work directly at customer sites to keep food processing and packaging lines running reliably, diagnosing technical issues, ensuring optimal equipment performance and training operators. The role is an individual contributor position, and you may be required to travel to customer sites up to 90% of your time. Tetra Pak does not offer support for visas or relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, resolve technical issues and support equipment installations at customer sites
• Evaluate equipment performance and escalate complex problems through the appropriate operational processes
• Train customer operators and help improve day-to-day production efficiency
• Monitor service contracts and identify opportunities to improve service delivery while managing stakeholder expectations
• Ensure adherence to safety practices, food quality requirements and reporting standards
• Represent Tetra Pak professionally and suggest improvements to customer operations
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe working environment and follow OHS regulations and internal standards

Required profile

• Education in industrial systems, automation and engineering or equivalent
• Three to five years of experience in maintenance, service or installation roles, or equivalent hands-on exposure
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites
• Valid driver's license
• Intermediate English is ideal but not mandatory

Required skills

• Solid foundation in mechanical, electrical and automation principles
• Familiarity with PLCs or similar
• Knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens PLCs, HMI and SCADA (AVEVA InTouch/Beijer) and networks (Profibus, Profinet) is highly valued
