IBMi Engineer (Remote)

About the role

As an IBMi Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving critical business systems that run on IBM Power hardware. You will ensure these legacy and modern environments remain stable, secure, and performant for high‑stakes enterprise operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise IBM Power Systems using HMC and PowerVM virtualization.
• Implement and manage high‑availability and backup solutions with PowerHA and Fortra toolsets.
• Develop and modernise enterprise applications in RPG and Control Language (CL).
• Monitor system security and performance using native IBMi utilities.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and firmware management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate IBMi workloads into cloud and hybrid architectures.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in IBMi (AS/400) systems engineering or administration.
• Proven expertise with IBM Power Systems, HMC, and PowerVM.
• Strong background in RPG and CL programming.
• Hands‑on experience with PowerHA, backup/recovery, and Fortra toolsets.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
