About the role

Expertise France is seeking a specialist in training engineering and technical education to support the development of forestry and wood‑sector vocational programmes in Paraguay. Working closely with the project manager in Asunción, the expert will contribute to the “IMPULSANDO” project that runs until June 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse competency needs along the wood value chain, focusing on upstream forest activities and downstream wood transformation.
• Support the design, consolidation and validation of curricula for the experimental technical baccalaureate in forest management and related training programmes.
• Develop and deliver a capacity‑building programme for teachers of the pilot schools, including didactic planning and pedagogical support.
• Provide advisory input on the specification of equipment and material requirements for the new technical programmes.
• Collaborate with public and private partners to ensure alignment with project objectives and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in technical education and training engineering applied to sustainable forest management or wood processing.
• Experience in curriculum development, competency frameworks and capacity‑building initiatives, preferably in an international development context.
• Strong analytical skills to assess skill gaps and translate them into actionable training solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders in Paraguay.
