Senior Software Engineer – C++ & C# (Hybrid)

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Enterprise SCADA (LMS) team. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance features for mission‑critical industrial software used worldwide. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week on‑site at either Calgary, Canada or Houston, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ and C# components for the Enterprise SCADA platform.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborating with product management and architecture.
• Diagnose system issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement robust fixes.
• Research and prototype emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience with C++ and C# building high‑performance applications.
• Residency within a 50‑mile (80 km) commute to the designated office.
• Strong experience with MS SQL Server, including database design and complex queries.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Azure services such as App Services, Functions, and Storage.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version‑control tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
• Proven ability to work effectively in Agile software development environments.
