Senior AWS DevOps Engineer – Remote (12‑month contract)

About the role

Join a fast‑growing engineering team that powers a high‑traffic consumer web platform. You will help migrate the infrastructure to AWS, modernise and harden the delivery pipeline, and build internal tooling—including AI‑driven agents—that accelerates how engineers ship code.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a multi‑account AWS strategy using Amazon Organizations.
• Migrate existing services to a serverless architecture (Cognito, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB).
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using native AWS services and third‑party tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Create tooling that integrates AI coding agents into the development workflow.
• Support a large‑scale WordPress site and ensure its reliability and performance.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health with CloudWatch, X‑Ray, and other observability tools.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience deploying and supporting high‑traffic, scalable web applications.
• 5+ years working in an AWS serverless environment.
• Strong TypeScript expertise and hands‑on experience with the AWS CDK.
• Proficient scripting skills (Linux/Unix shell, Python or Ruby).
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, SDLC, and configuration‑management tooling.
• Experience defining multi‑account AWS strategies and forecasting AWS billing.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents and spec‑driven development.
