GIS and Geospatial Data Specialist Consultant

About the role

The GIS and Geospatial Data Specialist Consultant will support the AI‑Powered Satellite Platform project in Paraguay, providing technical expertise for the collection, processing, analysis, validation, visualization and reporting of geospatial data needed to map renewable energy resources and assess climate‑related risks.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, organize and assess spatial datasets from government agencies and other sources.
• Process satellite imagery and generate high‑resolution renewable energy (solar, wind) and climate risk (drought, flood) maps.
• Validate datasets with stakeholders and ensure data quality.
• Create visualizations, dashboards and reports to communicate findings.
• Support the deployment and testing of a web‑based geospatial platform.
• Provide technical guidance to local teams and contribute to capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, Remote Sensing or a related field.
• Proven experience in GIS and geospatial data handling for environmental or energy projects.
• Familiarity with climate risk assessment and renewable‑energy mapping concepts.
• Ability to work on‑site in Asunción for the contract period.
• Fluent English communication skills.
