Senior Application Security Engineer – Remote

About the role

As a Senior Application Security Engineer at BairesDev, you will protect the application layer by identifying and mitigating risks throughout the software development lifecycle. You will champion security best practices and help product teams deliver resilient applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth security assessments of application code and architecture to uncover logical flaws and vulnerabilities.
• Integrate automated security testing tools (SAST, DAST) into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead threat‑modeling sessions with development teams to design out security risks.
• Perform manual secure code reviews and provide remediation guidance.
• Define and refine secure coding standards based on OWASP Top 10 and other benchmarks.
• Mentor developers on emerging application‑security trends.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Application Security, Cybersecurity, or Software Engineering.
• Proven expertise with the OWASP Top 10 framework.
• Hands‑on experience in threat modeling and manual secure code reviews.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• SAST and DAST tools such as Semgrep, Snyk, OWASP ZAP.
• Integration of security controls within CI/CD pipelines and secure SDLC.
• Threat modeling, secure code review, vulnerability assessment.
