Product Design Systems Designer (Remote)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for US clients. As a Product Design Systems Designer you will own the creation of client design systems, turning brand guidelines and reference sites into a working system of tokens, variables, modes, and core components that a build pipeline can execute without further input. This senior, systems‑first role focuses on establishing robust design systems across multiple brands, not on one‑off pages or maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different, while maintaining the same structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing for the web with real design‑system work showcased in a portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout, and variants.
• Experience creating actual architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio where the visual output varies per client but the underlying rigor is consistent.
• Strong English skills and availability that overlaps with US business hours.
