Head of Lending

About the role

The Head of Lending will lead the strategy, development and growth of lending capabilities within the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) business. Reporting to the MFS CEO, this senior leader will ensure comprehensive loan portfolio management, profitability, regulatory compliance and data‑driven risk solutions to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and scale organizational and operational credit capabilities across MFS.
• Define and execute the lending strategy in partnership with the MFS CEO.
• Lead the expansion of the loan business while maintaining portfolio quality and P&L performance.
• Design and implement credit policies, underwriting standards, collection processes and portfolio management frameworks.
• Oversee risk credit management, analytics and data‑driven decision making.
• Manage relationships with regulators, financial partners and strategic fintech allies.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary, regional teams to achieve business objectives.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Preferably a Master’s degree (Finance, MBA, Risk Management, Data Science) or relevant certifications.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in banking, fintech, micro‑finance or digital financial services.
• At least 5 years leading credit, risk, product or lending functions with proven P&L responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience managing loan portfolios, credit policy design, underwriting and collections.
• Track record of working with financial regulators in highly regulated environments.
• Experience building commercial alliances with banks, fintechs or other business partners.
