AI Engineer (Remote, Asuncion)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As an AI Engineer you will own and ship the internal automation roadmap, turning documented workflows into production systems. This is a builder role focused on delivering functional AI‑driven tools, not on research or model training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that reduce manual hours across design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and the internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English proficiency sufficient for asynchronous written work with a US‑based team.
