Sr. Data Engineer (Snowflake)

About the role

We are looking for a senior data engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud data warehouses. The role focuses on Snowflake and BigQuery environments, supporting analytical and operational workloads for our customers across retail, CPG, sports, and media.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
• Integrate data pipelines with cloud‑native applications alongside backend and platform engineers.
• Manage and optimise BigQuery and Snowflake warehouses for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement data governance, security, and privacy best practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with analytics teams to define data models, enable self‑service reporting and BI capabilities.
• Create and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, lineage, and metadata.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise pipelines to guarantee high availability and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging data‑engineering technologies and continuously improve the data infrastructure.

Required profile

• Certified SnowPro (Snowflake certification).
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building modern cloud‑based data platforms.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning, security, and data modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills for analytics engineering and data transformation.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and orchestration.
• Experience with dbt or similar analytics‑engineering frameworks.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Dagster or Apache Airflow.
• Experience supporting machine‑learning or AI‑driven use cases on data platforms.
• Solid understanding of data privacy, governance, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.
