Senior Performance Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to lead low‑level system optimization for high‑traffic, distributed environments. You will bridge hardware capabilities and software execution, fine‑tuning the Linux kernel to ensure maximum throughput and minimal latency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct deep‑dive analysis of CPU, memory, and I/O subsystems to identify root causes of latency.
• Design and execute performance characterization plans for large‑scale distributed systems.
• Develop custom observability tools using eBPF for real‑time system health monitoring.
• Optimize kernel parameters and process scheduling to maximize hardware utilization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide architectural recommendations based on profiling data.
• Automate performance regression validation within the deployment pipeline.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in performance engineering, systems engineering, or low‑level Linux development.
• Proven expertise in Linux kernel tuning and deep knowledge of kernel internals.
• Strong background in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks at scale.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
