Legal Assistant (Remote)

About the role

Veta Virtual is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals in a fast‑paced, fully remote law‑firm environment. You will be the backbone of case administration, ensuring documents, deadlines, and client communications are handled with precision.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, format, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and case files according to firm and court standards.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing status updates and gathering necessary information.
• Manage case calendars, tracking deadlines, filing dates, hearings, and follow‑up tasks.
• Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and third parties to keep cases moving forward.
• Maintain confidential client and case files within the firm’s case management system.
• Draft routine correspondence and assist attorneys with filings and administrative tasks.
• Handle incoming calls and inquiries, routing matters appropriately and informing attorneys of priority items.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in a law‑firm setting.
• Based in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with legal case‑management software such as Clio, Filevine, MyCase or similar platforms.
• Experience with e‑filing systems and litigation support processes (preferred).
