Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through immaculate cleanliness and visual standards onboard. This role leads the housekeeping team to ensure premium service that is both seamless and memorable.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall cleanliness and visual impression of all guest areas on the ship.
• Maintain and enforce safety, quality, and environmental standards in line with company and brand guidelines.
• Lead, train, and develop supervisors and crew members, providing continuous feedback and recognition.
• Monitor performance expectations through open communication and regular assessments.
• Ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall ship operations and guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping managerial experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and equipment handling.
• Ability to assess talent, coach front‑line staff, and resolve issues effectively.
• Understanding of human‑resources policies and practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using industry software such as SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, and Kronos.
