Full Stack and Backend NodeJS TypeScript/JavaScript Engineer (Senior)

About the role

Bluelight, a fast‑growing software consultancy, is seeking a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to design and deliver high‑quality, low‑latency applications for its clients. The role is remote, serving US business hours, and offers the chance to work on complex, multi‑tenant systems in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement secure multi‑tenant architectures with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row‑Level Security.
• Write raw SQL, manage schema migrations using node‑postgres and node‑pg‑migrate.
• Contribute to frontend work with React when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, including integration and fault‑injection testing.
• Utilise AI coding assistants as part of daily development.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend‑focused software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables.
• Ability to work overlapping US business hours.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• RESTful API development and SDK integration.
