Frontend Engineer – GIS & Data Visualization

About the role

We are looking for a Mid‑to‑Senior Frontend Engineer who will design and deliver intuitive, scalable web applications that visualise operational and geospatial data. The role focuses on building interactive maps, dashboards and data‑driven user interfaces while ensuring high performance and accessibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain large‑scale interactive maps with layer controls, colour‑coding and manual overrides using ArcGIS, MapLibre, Leaflet or Google Maps.
• Create operational dashboards that transform complex data into clear, actionable visualisations.
• Implement and verify WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements across all frontend components.
• Work with geospatial and location‑based data to build responsive, user‑friendly map experiences.
• Participate in beta testing, defect resolution, UI improvements and overall application hardening.
• Collaborate with the delivery team through documented designs, code reviews, Git‑based workflows and ticketed development processes.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code to improve development efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional frontend development experience, preferably with React or Angular.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills and ability to maintain at least 4 hours overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
• Experience working in structured delivery environments with documented designs and ticket‑based workflows.
