Infrastructure Engineer – Core Infrastructure

About the role

Join the Core Infrastructure – Platforms team at Payward, the parent of Kraken, to help evolve and scale the OpenStack platform that powers the company’s on‑premises and cloud environments. You will work alongside senior engineers, SRE, networking and security specialists to deliver a reliable, secure foundation for all workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and enhance OpenStack components (Nova, Neutron, Ironic) and related storage systems.
• Learn and troubleshoot Ceph architecture, operations and integration with OpenStack Cinder or Kubernetes CSI.
• Handle feature requests and support tickets for compute and storage platforms.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex full‑stack issues.
• Build automation and tooling to reduce operational toil.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and on‑call rotation for platform reliability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as an Infrastructure, Platform or DevOps Engineer.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach to unblock engineering teams.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one private‑cloud OpenStack deployment or Ceph storage platform.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and Linux fundamentals.
